The Beginning

At the start of 7th grade, I was an emotional train wreck waiting to happen. My life had been built on mediocre friendships and school stress. But, suddenly, I faced two years of unknown possibilites. I could slack off. (A Week in the Woods came to mind quite often.) I could excell. I could--gasp--be social and get a boyfriend and get in on this other world.

But what did I do? I made a friend who made me think there really were such things as life-long friendships. Who made me think she would be by my side through familial troubles and other spats. Who made me think I had met the person who would one day tell me, "go for it" and be by my side as I excelled in some fantastic career.

For two solid years, that was who she was to me. The best friend I never knew I could have. Until one day, push came to shove and it all started to rip apart. Like the inadvertant hole you get in your blue jeans. Then you rip it so it looks better. Before you know it, it is ripping itself and it all goes south from there.

This is an epic story of the inunderstandable. Ten minute posts. Emails, poetry, and all the details I rip out of my subconscious.

It's cheaper than therapy.
